CAP's Group 3 Color Guard Leading the East Lansdowne July 4th Parade 2022

EAST LANSDOWNE, PA - On Monday July 4th 2022 at 11:30AM members of the Civil Air Patrol Group 3 Color Guard assembled responding to the request of local VFW Aldan Memorial Post 1000 Adjutant Larry Albertoli. The Group 3 Color Guard was requested to lead the local 4th of July parade which included Mayor Majovie Bland, the East Lansdowne fire department, local veterans, dance organizations as well as local bands.
Speakers of the community including US Representative Mary Gay Scanlon and Mayor Bland commenced the day of events with speeches to the East Lansdowne families in attendance. Attendees had a comfortable view under shade canopies with ice water. Following the speeches, raising of the flag as well as national anthem, the Mayor urged everyone to assume their parade positions.
The parade kicked off around noon as the floats led by the Group 3 Honor Guard departed from the East Lansdowne municipal building at the comer of Emerson and Lexington Avenue.
Roughly a 1.25 mile loop the march headed East on Emerson Avenue and made a clockwise loop onto Wildwood then Pembrook and Hirst then back to Emerson Ave. Members of the parade
were greeted by waving families cheering from the sidewalk and front lawns.
Upon completion of the march the Honor Guard received 'CAP Excellence tokens' and celebrated with pretzels and water ice provided by the East Lansdowne municipality.
